Bromoxynil Octanoate is a selective contact herbicide from the benzonitrile family. It works by inhibiting photosynthesis and disrupting cell membranes, leading to rapid weed desiccation. It is particularly effective against annual broadleaf weeds in cereals, maize, canola, and onion crops.

It is often tank-mixed with herbicides such as MCPA and Bentazone to expand the weed control spectrum and reduce resistance risk.
