Product Description

Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) is a gram-positive, soil-dwelling bacterium and the most widely used biological insecticide in the world. It acts by stomach poisoning: once ingested by target insects, Bt endotoxin crystals dissolve in the gut, damaging epithelial cells, causing feeding to stop, and eventually leading to insect death.

Bt is highly effective against lepidopterous larvae in agriculture, horticulture, and forestry. The Ecogen strain EG2424 is particularly effective against the Colorado potato beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata).
